Schizophrenia
A mental illness believed to have a large impact on sufferers and their relatives, schizophrenics are not said to be a danger to others but more of a danger to themselves, as the chances of suicide among schizophrenic’s sufferers is believed to be much greater than among the rest of the population. It is said to be a debilitating illness, sufferers need accurate diagnosis, correct treatment and high amounts of compassion and sympathy.
The believed symptoms of schizophrenia
- Hallucinations, such as seeing or hearing things that are not apparently occurring, for example, hearing voices.
- Unable to respond emotionally with sadness or happiness.
- Communication difficulties with other individuals.
- Constant delusions.
What are said to be the causes of Schizophrenia?
- Viral illnesses might result in schizophrenia.
- Another trigger might be that the individuals personality type and upbringing.
- An underlying problem in the chemical receptors of the brain might result in this condition.
