MassageReported to be a powerful experience that helps condition the body, mind and spirit, massage is believed to stimulate lymphatic drainage and to move unwanted toxins away from the body. This is believed to help in relieving stress, eliminating emotional tension and increasing the flow of circulation.
Massage movements are thought to stimulate muscle contractions, which may result in lymphatic flow. Lymph is a fluid that moves around the body, moving toxins to waste disposal sites.
Many individuals massage separate parts of their bodies such as arms, hands, neck and feet. Facial massage is thought to be good as it is said that it helps in improving circulation and revives complexion, this relies on pressure being applied to certain points of the face such as the forehead, eyes, cheeks, chin, nose, mouth and ears.

Massage oilsFeet massage
Having a foot massage is believed to be very beneficial for the body. A foot massage is given by smoothing oil or moisturizer onto the soles of the feet and kneading them strongly with the thumbs, massaging from the outer edges to the middle of the soles in a circular motion. Then the rest of one’s feet and ankles are massaged using the fingertips.

Massage oils
It is considered best to use massage oil when having a massage and they are thought to enable the hands to glide over the body. There are different kinds of massage oils that are thought to be suitable to use.
- Lavender oil is believed to be good to use in promoting a relaxing massage.
- Wheatgerm oil features large amounts of Vitamin E, which is said to make it ideal for massage if there are stretch marks or post operative scars.
- Mixing three drops each of bergamot oil, grapefruit oil and rosemary oil is reported to bring about an invigorating blend that may be suitable for massage.
