Breathing

Breathing Occurring automatically within the body, breathing is the process of gathering air in and out of the lungs via the diaphragm muscle. It is believed that, when the diaphragm muscle contracts, the ribcage expands outwards and this may result in a decrease of pressure in the chest cavity, which may, in turn, result in air entering the lungs. It is believed that, as air reaches the lungs, oxygen is extracted and carbon dioxide gas is attained.
Breathing is said to be vital for maintaining a relaxed approach to life. Breathing is believed to lie at the centre of the meditation and yoga practices for encouraging relaxation. Breathing is thought to lead in someone to feel less anxious, tired and less likely to suffer from panic attacks.
Breathing is believed to bring about numerous health benefits, such as lowering anxiety levels, relieving stress and optimum oxygen perfusion of the tissues.
